You pick up the bow and arrow, and the bull’s eye is roundly in front of you, square in your sights. And you practice and you aim. And you fail and you refine. You stretch and you release. And you miss the mark. Every. Single. Time. You give up, you step back, you throw away the mind. You live, you age, you watch your entire life, in its oceanic continents, of graviton spatial time, pass you cleanly by. Right the heavenly hell, before your very eyes. With nothing to show for it, but useless degrees, and mockingbird rhymes. And then one, completely colourless day, you walk across an empty field, and stumble upon a shapeless quiver. You pick up this invisible bow, with future nostalgia, with anticipated regret, with old hopes, and with unexpected new bets, thinking nothing of it, yet still, remembering everything from it. And you look out there - into the quiet distance - and see a single, solitary, pink tulip. And without thinking, without trying without caring, you pick up a random feather, and you seat it in its shimmering bird, you draw the string of air, tastefully taut, and you release with all you’ve got. And the sparrow flies - flourished and finessed in free - for millennia museum miles, for endless ageless hours, for illustrious sandstone eons, diving and dancing in the sun’s chirping shine, past a thousand porch-filled valleys, beyond a million matchless mayas, into a trillion talon stars, where it suddenly strikes you💥 from behind 🌷 dead center 💘
